The founder and Chancellor of Arthur Jarvis University, Sir Arthur Jarvis Archibong today received accolades from Senator Sandy Onor, Senator representing Central Senatorial District in Cross River State, during Guest Talk Series, an interactive session with students of Arthur Jarvis University.
Senator Onoh lauded the University’s efforts and commitment to providing wholesome education through such sessions as Guest Talk Series and advised that such opportunities should be appreciated by students on campus.
He also commended the Chancellor for his visionary leadership and prowess in advancing the educational front. “He would have sited this University somewhere else in the world but he chose to come back home. When the history of Akpabuyo would be written, his name would be at the centre of such record” he concluded.
Speaking at the Guest Talk Series on the topic “Education, Youths and National Development”, the Senator shared personal experience where education has played vital role in development. He indicated that education builds personal development and character which translate into national development. “...a nation’s growth is determined by the level of education her young people get” he added.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ani Nkang, had earlier made a presentation of the developmental strides of the university, pointing that, so far, the University is one of the fastest growing private universities in terms of students’ population, number of approved degree programmes and number of accredited programmes in just four years.
