Arthur Jarvis University Hosts Accreditation Assessment for Medical Laboratory Science Department

Arthur Jarvis University was recently honored to host a rigorous accreditation exercise for its Medical Laboratory Department. The assessment, conducted by a distinguished three-person team, aimed to evaluate and enhance the department's standards, facilities, and educational practices.

Led by the eminent Prof Monday Francis Useh, the accreditation team included Prof Umaru Mikail Gurku and Mrs. Grace Sakoma, a representative from the National Universities Commission (NUC). The assessment, held from November 20th to November 21st, 2023, encompassed a thorough inspection of various critical areas within the institution.

Commencing with a formal courtesy visit to the office of Vice Chancellor Prof Benedict Iserom Ita, the team conducted an extensive evaluation across different facets of the university. This included meticulous examinations of the library resources, the practice area at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH), lecture rooms, faculty facilities, and more.

The assessment culminated in an exit meeting held at the Arthur Jarvis University Study Centre on November 21st, 2023, attended by key university officials, including Vice Chancellor Prof Benedict Iserom Ita, Registrar Lady Mary Effiom Dan-Abia, and Director of Academic Planning Dr. Oliver Okon, among others. The meeting provided an opportunity for the accreditation team to offer insights and recommendations.

While the accreditation outcome is pending, the university expresses gratitude for the thorough assessment conducted by the accreditation team. The insights gained and recommendations provided during the evaluation process will serve as a valuable resource to further enhance the quality of education and facilities within the Medical Laboratory Department.
