LAWSAN Arthur Jarvis University Chapter Inaugurates New Executives

Following a successful election on June 16, 2023, the Law Students' Association of Nigeria (LAWSAN), which was founded at Arthur Jarvis University precisely one year ago, has sworn in its second set of officers. On June 26, 2023, at the University Moot Court, the inauguration ceremony was held. Attendees included the Commissioner of Oath, Magistrate Ifeoma Omole; the Director of Academic Planning and Quality Assurance, Dr. Uwem Edet; Mrs. Vina Ugbede; the Head of Strategic Compliance and Corporate Development (SCCD), Barr. Emmanuel Okonkwo; and the dean of the faculty of law, Dr. Mrs. Christiana Ekpe. Also present were former LAWSAN executives, including the step-aside president, Cmr. Victor Anjeh Bassey, and his step-aside executives, the speaker of the first parliament, Hon. Patrick Ene Okon, the retired chief Judge of the Arthur Jarvis University judiciary, Hon. Justice Charlene and other members of the judiciary, the LECOM chairman, Cmr. Phineas Olisa and his team members.

The event was coordinated by Nella Inyang and Divine Ekeh of the LLB 4 constituency. The opening prayer by Effiong Valour Daniels, the newly inaugurated Auditor of the LLB 1 constituency. The order of events was as follows: National anthem and state anthem led by Charlotte Iyadim of the LLB 2 constituency, Opening remark by the Dean of Faculty of Law, Spoken words by Eyo Emmanuel (Aproko Poet), Appreciation speech by the LECOM chairman, Spoken words by Precious, Commencement of the inauguration with the taking of Oath by the newly elected executives, Presentation of certificates to the new executives, Presentation of certificates to the step-aside executives and the defunct parliamentarians, Presentation of certificates to the newly elected heads of chambers and parliamentarians, Handover ceremony from the step asipresident, Victortor Anjeh Bassey to the newly elected president, Fubara Manuel Okorite, Closing remark by Miss Vina and Closing prayer by Effiong Valour Daniels.

In her closing remarks, Mrs Vina Ugbede, speaking on behalf of the management expressed how impressed the management of the Institution was with the Faculty of Law and intimated that they would continually throw their weight of support behind the Faculty. It was a successful event, to say the least.
