UNIVERSITY 2023 MAIDEN AND COMBINED CONVOCATION CEREMONY
Arthur Jarvis University celebrated her maiden and combined convocation on Saturday, the 8th of April, 2023. 266 graduands from three academic sessions were conferred with the following class of degrees: 18 first class degrees, 118 second class degrees upper divisions degrees and 101 second class lower division degrees, 18 third class degrees and 11 professional certifications.
Dignitaries and professionals from all walks of life were in attendance at the occasion. As distinguished guests of honour, royal fathers such as as the Obong of Calabar and the Edidem of the Quas graced the occasion. During the ceremony, the chairman of the occasion, Hon. Goddy Jedy-Agba (OFR), Honourable Minister of State for Power, Federal Republic of Nigeria, was appointed Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Institution. Prof Joe Duke presented an excellent convocation lecture. Representatives from mentor institutions such as the University of Calabar and the University of Cross River (UniCross), formerly known as the Cross River State University of Science and Technology (CRUTECH), attended the event. The event was heavily covered by media personalities and was widely published in national dailies.
History was made as the event also marked the commissioning of the University’s Wall of Fame, which features students who have distinguished themselves academically. It was indeed a day of pomp, colour, glamour, grandeur and splendour that will not be be soon forgotten.
