HOD's Welcome Message

The value system, prospects, and service delivery in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science are top-notch and second to none because of our core values in the commitment to excellence in teaching, researches, and innovative community services; engagement in these acts are passionately driven and pursued.

The Department has two programs (B.Sc Computer Science and B.Sc Mathematics) and both are fully accredited by National Universities Commission (NUC). Moreover, our graduates are gainfully employed, some are self-employed, whereas others are currently pursuing graduate studies within and outside the country.

These feats are possible because we passionately pursue our aim which is to produce top-rated graduates in the various disciplines of Computer Science such as Cyber Security, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc., that will be globally competitive and well equipped in order to make valuable contributions both locally and internationally.

The Department is known for always creating an atmosphere for excellence where innovation and creativity in the field of computing is encouraged among our students; hence, our students are equipped with the necessary tools to strategically position them in the cutting edge of computing knowledge and applications. Thereby, making them capable of making significant contributions in their societies.

Further more, our core objectives include the following:
1. The training of competent graduates that are imbued with the drive for excellence, innovation, and creativity, with the capacity for intellectual distinction both in the academia and in the industry.
2. To produce top quality and competitive graduates of Computer Science that are in high demand in the industry.
3. To develop entrepreneurial aptitudes and potentials in our students through product-oriented research endeavors that are beneficial to the society; thereby, entrenching in them the ethos of contribution.
4. To raise students with strong intellectual and moral orientation who will be valuable citizens, and new generation of leaders in the society.

Ladies and gentlemen, if your dream is to become an expert in Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering and Development, Programming in different languages, and Machine Learning; then, your choice is the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Arthur Jarvis University. We look forward to mentoring and adding value to your education to enable you stand out in this computer-edged generation.

Thank you
